I’ve been on 16mg of buprenorphine for a long time tapering off and I’ve been on 0.2mg and I can’t get off, I was on heroin 25yr ago and tapers off with methadone in 60days didn’t touch any heroin ever again until I cut my 4 fingers off and was put on painkillers for 7yrs, the law changed and the doctors just cut me off not even knowing, bought them illegal for years until I decided to go to rehab, was put on it and it’s way harder than heroin or methadone to get off of buprenorphine, especially the last little tiny dose, you’d think it’s so small your body just finally doesn’t need it anymore but it’s been 1yr and there is no end. In turns of no other side affects that’s bs, I had leg kicks and hand kicks every time I was falling asleep when I was on 16mg now it’s hardy anymore but it’s way harder to get off the last 0.2 than off 4g of heroin, I don’t have diarrhea but can’t sleep, restless legs, rolling around hot/cold my brain explodes then I take 1/4 of a pill and it’s good for 24h, that’s been going on for 5months now, don’t think it will change

I'm 29. Did my first perc at 16. I was on methadone from 18 1\2 to 21. Clean until 25 (kidney stones and wisdom teeth issues) got me addicted again. Got on Suboxone for the pass year and doing pretty well knock on wood👍 I just say this is the first time a doctor actually knows what he's talking about here on RUclips.respect to you my friend. I just hope amd pray when I start taping off it goes well. How long on Suboxone do you recommend before lowering mg.? Also Im on 12 mg.

4-5 years back I had this happen from a very large dose I unintentionally took. I didn't know thc oil could absorb through the skin. It was a pretty bad experience I wasn't prepared for. I still use it now for chronic spinal nerve pain. It seems to work in place of prescription opioids. It also seems to have less side effects than opioids. I did quit for 6 months this winter. Just to see how my back was without it and how quitting mentally felt. I found I'm not very different, have more pain and don't sleep well. I went back to half the night in a recliner for a while. The no decent rest thing is fairly draining. Weed does have drawbacks, like you need to be more structured and intentional when using it because it will make it easy to let things pass. But if you just take the relief you get, control your mind. focus and do your thing. Seems a better alternative to me than years of opioids and major surgery, with my current understanding at least. By the time I forced have to get surgery. I'm hoping that the methods will be significantly improved beyond cutting the back part of my spine off to make room for the spinal cord.

What do you do about the underlying issue that prompted you to take it in the first place ? Stopping is hard, but doable, but once you stop, the original problem comes back..... Any advice ?

I really want to get off these Clonazepam pills. I recently tried to taper myself much to quickly and ended up having a seizure. Do you know of any good doctors to speak to about this issue in Thailand? Probably not, but I really want to get of these things. The need for them has long been over and I thought I could just get off of them like everything, but nope 10 stitches later above my eye after seizing and smacking my head on the ground and I won't ever try that again on my own. I never want to go through that nightmare again.

Beware when the treatment is more addictive and longer/harder to get off of. If you are at risk to die, maybe it's for you. Most people who start taking it never stop, the withdrawals last 4x as long. The depression for another 4x. Suck it up and be sick for a week and done. This is not the answer, it's a treatment Drs can push for lifelong patients, with no risk that patients will die and they get sued. Don't fall for this trap!!!! Go to a different environment, turn off your WiFi get a heating pad, and be prepared to do some soul searching. Exercise as soon as it's possible, this is the way. Good luck to all

It absolutely is not! They tried to push this on all of us with fibromyalgia. It was, in my opinion, the worst thing for fibromyalgia. We had a combination of medications that were helping, a lot. But, politicians ensured that everyone on pain medication, every pain clinic cut us off. And it was brutal. Now, in my 60s, I'm addicted to fentanyl. It isn't the tragedy you might think. I'm a functioning addict. I pay my rent and bills, on time in full. My house is clean and I take very good care of myself. It isn't the answer I want, it's just what's available to me. Anyone who's experienced chronic pain, hour after hour, day after day of unrelenting pain...it's what they do to torture people, and it torture. Before you judge me walk a minute in my shoes. If you're tough enough to live with pain on a daily basis, just, wow. I'm not that strong, and if I were, would I still choose to be tortured, every day? Millions of us were cut off. Before I was cut off, my doctor had me on straight morphine. Every day for two decades. To be cut off was brutal. I wouldn't do that to someone I hated, because its *inhumane.* Many haven't survived. Two women from my pain clinic were dead in the first week, one by her own hand and the other had a heart attack. Her husband said the *fear* of untreated pain was more than she could bear. When you see people living in tents and doing opiates...some of them are like me. Don't judge.

I had a torn bicep surgery while on suboxone. The surgeon spoke to my prescribing sub Dr before hand and agreed on a plan for post op pain. Surgeon left me out to dry. I called the office following day Dr didnt return my call. Prescribing sub Dr called surgeons office and wouldn't call her back. 5 days of crushing pain. Didnt sleep for a few nites. Nightmare and was always my worst fear.

I’m sceptical too. But lack of evidence of efficacy is not evidence of lack of efficacy. The chemical basis of w/d is a large part elevated cAMP levels in the brain Thc dose dependently reduces cAMP . It also could address the elevated pain during w/d . Lastly it raises levels of endorphins slightly ( beta endorphin and dynorphin ) that could make things slightly easier. The theory if it is sound scientifically it’s just not proven . The only conclusion is more research needed. What you could have though is relapse and now they are dependent on 2 medications. Or do they transition to thc and at a later date stop taking that ( would be significantly easier that tapering off the traditionally used medications for detox potentialy )
